Top Modern Universities

Modern Universities (also described as New Universities) referred to the post-1992 institutions, some of them are the former polytechnics in the UK.

Following are some of the top modern universities as ranked by the relevant university guides:

University of Hertfordshire
- ranked as the Top Modern University in the UK by the Complete University Guide 2010. It is also rated as the Top Modern University for Research in England, according to the Times Higher Education Table of Excellence 2009.

Robert Gordon University
- voted best modern university in the UK and rated in the top 10 for graduate-level jobs (The Times Good University Guide 2009).

The University of Central Lancashire
- named Top Modern University in the Times Good University Guide for 2009.

Kingston University
- London's top ranking new university, according to the Guardian University Guide 2006.
