According to the Complete University Guide 2016, Oxford and Cambridge were tied for the No. 1 position for Medicine, followed by Cardiff in 3rd place.

Imperial College was ranked 5th in the UK for Medicine (up from 15th) by the Complete University Guide 2016. Moreover, Imperial College was ranked joint 5th in the world for Clinical, Pre-clinical and Health, according to the 2015-2016 Times Higher Education World University Rankings' Clinical, Pre-Clinical and Health table.

Medicine at Newcastle is one of the most highly regarded medical degrees in the UK. It was placed among the best British universities for medicine in The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016 and The Complete University Guide 2016 (ranked No. 9). Additionally, Newcastle's research was ranked 9th overall in the UK in the ‘Clinical Medicine’ category (Research Excellence Framework 2014).

The University of Exeter was ranked 15th, up from 27th, for Medicine, according to the Complete University Guide 2016. In addition, the University of Exeter Medical School has been ranked best in South West England in the influential Guardian University Guide 2016.
