Founded in 1901, Grambling State University is a comprehensive, historically-black, public institution located in Grambling, Louisiana, USA. The University offers certificate, associate, bachelor, master's and doctoral degree programs. The School of Nursing is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. The Master of Public Administration program became the fourth graduate curriculum among HBCU’s to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).

The University holds the distinction of being the first Louisiana institution to bring a sitting U. S. President to its campus. The Honorable William “Bill” Jefferson Clinton was the featured speaker during commencement exercises held in May 1999.
