Shanghai Jiao Tong University has released its Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) for the year, showcasing the top universities globally based on their academic and research performance. This year's ranking sees five Australian universities in the top 100, highlighting Australia’s strength in higher education. These universities are the University of Melbourne, the University of Queensland, the University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and Monash University.

In this prestigious global ranking, Harvard University has once again claimed the top spot for the 22nd consecutive year, reinforcing its long-standing position as the world’s leading university. Following Harvard are Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which hold the second and third positions, respectively. Together, these three universities form a solidified top three, which has remained largely unchanged for many years, underscoring their consistent excellence in research, academic performance, and global influence.
