According to the 2016 Complete University Guide, Cambridge was ranked 1st in the UK for General Engineering, followed by Durham in 2nd place and Dundee in 3rd place.

Imperial College’s rank in General Engineering falls from 3rd to 4th due to a decrease in the Graduate Prospects measure, according to the Complete University Guide 2016.

The School of Engineering at Warwick is consistently in the top ten in all UK league tables, including the Guardian University Guide 2016, and were placed fourth in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2015 under 'General Engineering'.

Swansea University was ranked 8th in the UK for General Engineering by The Complete University Guide 2016. Moreover, the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 ranked Engineering at Swansea as 10th in the UK for the combined score in research quality across the Engineering disciplines.

Lancaster University was ranked 9th for General Engineering in the 2016 Complete University Guide. In addition, according to the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, 91% of Lancaster research and 100% of its impact in General Engineering was assessed as internationally excellent and world leading.
