Cambridge was ranked 1st in the UK for general engineering according to the Guardian University Guide 2015, followed by Oxford in 2nd place and Leeds in 3rd place.

The University of Warwick was rated 6th in the Guardian University Guide 2015 and 5th in the Sunday Times league table 2014 under 'General Engineering'. The University's accredited courses, which can lead to Chartered Engineer status, are collaboratively delivered between the School of Engineering and WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group).

Edinburgh Napier University was ranked as the top UK Modern University and the top Scottish Modern University for studying General Engineering, with a ranking position of 7th nationally, according to the Guardian University League Tables 2015. It was also rated as the top UK Modern University for studying Civil Engineering.

The University of Hull's School of Engineering has an excellent reputation. The Guardian’s University Guide 2015 placed it in the top 10 general engineering departments in the country, with a student satisfaction rating of more than 90 percent.
