Cambridge was ranked No. 1 in the UK for chemical engineering, followed by Imperial College in 2nd place and Birmingham in 3rd place, according to the Guardian University Guide 2015.

The University of Leeds has confirmed its reputation as one of the best chemical engineering departments in the UK with its ranking of 4th in the Guardian league table 2015. It was also rated 5th in the Complete University Guide.

Chemical Engineering at Bath was rated 7th nationally by the Guardian 2015, and was also rated in the Top 3 in the UK by The Times Good University Guide 2015.

Heriot-Watt University is also ranked highly for the subject. It was rated top in Scotland and in UK top ten (at No. 8) for Chemical Engineering by the Guardian University Guide 2015. In addition, the Sunday Times and Times University league tables 2014 placed Heriot-Watt 41st in the UK, 5th in Scotland, top ten in the UK for five subjects including Chemical Engineering.
