The University of Sussex was ranked 1st among the best social work programs in the UK in The Guardian University Guide 2015 and The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2014, and in the top 10 in the UK in The Complete University Guide 2015.

The University of Bristol was placed 4th in the table for the subject of Social Work. Additionally it has, for the eighth consecutive year, been placed first in The Guardian university subject league table 2015 for its BSc Social Policy programme.

Swansea University is amongst the top 20 universities in the UK for a wide range of subjects, with several making the top 10 including Social Work (6th). In the overall ranking, Swansea moved up to 57th out of 116 UK universities.

The University of York was ranked in the top 20 (at 19th) in the Guardian University Guide 2015: league table for social work. It is also consistently ranked in the Top 10 in the Complete University Guide Social Work subject table (5th in 2015).

The University of Winchester ranked particularly favourably within the subject area of Social Work (24th out of 73). Overall the Guardian ranked the University of Winchester as 59th out of 116 UK universities.
