Cambridge was ranked 1st for Sociology according to the Guardian University Guide league table 2015, followed by Manchester in 2nd place.

The University of Warwick is one of the country’s top Sociology departments. It was ranked 23rd in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2013 and 3rd in the UK in both the Guardian Guide 2015 and The Complete University Guide 2014.

The University of Surrey has retained its place among the UK's top 10 universities for Sociology (ranked 9th), according to the Guardian University Guide 2015. The University as a whole also moved into the top 6 for the first time, above institutions such as LSE, UCL, Durham, Lancaster and Warwick.

Sociology at the University of Sussex was ranked 24th in the UK in the Guardian University Guide 2015, and 21st in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2014. And, in the 2014 National Student Survey, students rated sociology at Sussex 9th for satisfaction with personal development among comparable UK institutions.
