According to the 2015 Guardian University Guide, Heriot-Watt University was ranked 1st in the UK for Chemistry (up from 2nd last year), ahead of Oxford (2nd) and St Andrews (3rd).

Chemistry at the University of Sussex was ranked 6th in the UK in The Guardian University Guide 2015, in the top 15 in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2014 and in the top 20 in the UK in The Complete University Guide 2015.

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Liverpool was ranked 8th in the 2015 Guardian league table. It was also ranked 5th amongst all the Russell Group universities.

Warwick's Department of Chemistry was placed amongst the top 10 in the UK according to the Guardian University Guide 2015, and in the top 100 Chemistry departments in the world (QS 2013 World University Ranking).

Aston University was ranked in the Top 15 chemistry courses in the UK (2015 Guardian University Guide). It was also ranked in Top 10 in the UK for both spend per student and staff to student ratio according to the 2015 Guardian University Guide.
