In the Guardian University Guide 2015, Anthropology at Oxford was ranked 1st in the UK, followed by University College London in 2nd place and Manchester in 3rd place.

Sussex was ranked in the top 15 in the UK for anthropology in The Complete University Guide 2015 and The Guardian University Guide 2015, and in the top 10 in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2014. In addition, Sussex was ranked in the top 5 social anthropology departments in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). 90 per cent of its research is rated as recognised internationally or higher, with over half rated as internationally excellent or higher, and one-quarter rated as world leading.

Anthropology at Kent was ranked 6th in the UK in The Guardian University Guide 2015, and has consistently received high ratings in the National Student Survey. According to the most recent Research Assessment Exercise, 50% of Kent research was rated “world-leading” or “internationally excellent” with excellent ratings for prestige.
