Founded in 1905, Northwest Missouri State University is a state-assisted, four-year regional university in Maryville, Missouri, USA. The University has the following colleges: The College of Arts and Sciences, The Booth College of Business and Professional Studies and The College of Education and Human Services. Some of the most popular areas of study include agriculture, education, business, mass communications and biology.

Northwest Missouri State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Northwest has been an AQIP (Academic Quality Improvement Program) institution since 2005.

In addition the University is accredited by The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Missouri State Board of Education for the preparation of elementary and secondary teachers and for advanced programs that prepare professional school personnel.
