Top Online Education Programs 2012
U.S. News & World Reports has just released its first edition of Top Online Education Program rankings for 2012. Following are some of the top performers in the rankings:
Ball State University - It has four top 20 rankings in U.S. News 2012 Top Online Education Program rankings, more than any other Indiana college or university (public or private). Ball State is rated No. 7 in student services and technology for online bachelor's degree programs; No. 8 in faculty credentials and training for online graduate programs in business; No. 13 in admission selectivity for online graduate programs in nursing; No. 17 in student services and technology for online graduate programs in education (teacher and administrator preparation).
The Pennsylvania State University - Penn State's online campus, the World Campus, earned an “Honor Roll” recognition for graduate-level education programs in the inaugural U.S. News 2012 Top Online Education Program Rankings. Additionally, several World Campus programs ranked in the top 15 % for various categories, including teaching practices and student engagement, student services and technology, faculty credentials and training, and admissions selectivity.
Auburn University - Online graduate programs in the Auburn University's Samuel Ginn College of Engineering earned a No. 1 ranking in admissions selectivity and a number five ranking in the student services and technology category. The college's programs were listed as 14th in the faculty credentials and training and teaching practices and student engagement categories.
Indiana University (IU) - The IU School of Education is ranked highest in the category of "Admissions Selectivity," at 15th, reflecting the fact that it's attracting high-achieving students from around the world. The School of Education is also ranked highly in "Student Services and Technology," coming in at 30th, due largely to a variety of technologies used to create interactive learning environments and provide support to online students.
Tennessee Tech University - The University's online graduate business program garnered a top 100 spot for Student Engagement and Accreditation indicators among the 2012 Top Online Graduate Business Programs nationwide. The TTU program also ranked in the top two-thirds among Student Services and Technology indicators.
University of Arizona - UA Engineering Online Distance Learning graduate program ranked No. 3 in Faculty Credentials & Training, No. 10 in Teaching Practices and Student Engagement, and No. 21 in Student Services & Technology.
