Founded in 1966, MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) is a comprehensive liberal arts university located in Olathe (Kansas), offering a range of undergraduate majors and graduate programs in business, counseling, education and nursing. In 2008, the US Census Bureau ranked Olathe the 24th fastest-growing city in the nation.
MNU has the following schools: School of Education; School of Business; College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; School of Nursing and Health Science; School of Religion and Philosophy. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences encompasses behavioral sciences, math, science, humanities and fine arts.
MidAmerica Nazarene University is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education
of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The nursing major has received approvals from the Kansas State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Accreditation of the teacher education program has been achieved from the Kansas State Board of Education. The Athletic Training Education Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The Division of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The traditional business programs are accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
The University is a member of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU); Council of Independent Colleges (CIC); Kansas Independent College Association (KICA); National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA); Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC); and others.
