The University of Arizona (USA) - The 2009 rankings published in the Philosophical Gourmet Report show that The University of Arizona has one of the best philosophy graduate departments in the world. Birkbeck, University of London - It has one of the UK’s leading Philosophy departments. In the Research Assessment Exercise 2008, Birkbeck retained the high standing attained in previous years: the research work of all of the Faculty's members was assessed, and 100% of it was judged to be of quality that is internationally recognized. The School has cooperative arrangements with other philosophy departments in London (University College, King’s College and Heythrop College).

University of Bristol (UK) - The Department of Philosophy enjoys an outstanding reputation in the UK and internationally. In the 2008 RAE, 30% of the department's research was classed as 4* (world-leading), 35% as 3* (internationally excellent) and 30% as 2* (internationally recognised). In the Philosophy Gourmet Report, it was judged to be the best department in the UK in two sub-disciplines of philosophy, the 2nd best in a further two sub-disciplines, the 3rd best in a further three sub-disciplines, the 4th best in one sub-discipline, and the 5th best in one sub-discipline.
