List of top leading medical schools in Finland:

University of Helsinki, Faculty of Medicine
- The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Helsinki is the only Finnish faculty of medicine that provides instruction in both Finnish and Swedish.
- The Faculty carries out high-quality multidisciplinary research and trains skilled doctors/dentists. First degrees in the Faculty of Medicine comprise the 250-credit Licentiate of Medicine degree and the 200-credit Licentiate of Dentistry degree.

University of Oulu, Faculty of Medicine
- The University of Oulu is one of the largest universities in Finland.
- Research and teaching carried out in the Faculty of Medicine cover the fields of Clinical Laboratory Science, Dentistry, Medical and Wellness Technology, Health Management Science, Medicine, Nursing Science and Radiography.
- At the Faculty of Medicine there are four different basic degree programs to study: Bachelor of Health Sciences, Master of Health Sciences, Licentiate of Dentistry and Licentiate of Medicine.

University of Tampere, Medical School
- In 1994 the Faculty transferred all its teaching for medical doctors to the problem based learning method, and it was the very first in Finland to do so.
- The higher university degrees offered by the Faculty of Medicine are Licentiate in Medicine and Master of Science. The degree of Doctor of Medical Science is open to those already holding the degree of Licentiate in Medicine. The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is offered in those subjects in which the Faculty has a professor/docent. The degree of Doctor of Science can be taken in Nursing or Public Health.
