Following are some of the top performers in the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2010:
Baylor University
- It is one of only 44 public and private colleges and universities in the United States, Canada and Great Britain, and the only Texas Big 12 institution to be named a "Best Buy" in the 2010 edition of The Fiske Guide to Colleges (http://fiskeguide.com). Other than Baylor, only one Big 12 institution, Iowa State University, made the list. Other Best Buy Universities (Private) include: Alfred University, Brigham Young University, Cooper Union College, Cornell College, University of Dallas, Deep Springs College, Elon University, Florida Southern College, Hendrix College, Illinois Institute of Technology, etc.
Cornell College
- It has been named a “Top Financial Find” and one of the “44 Best Buy Schools” in the college guide (2010 edition). The art department was also recognized by Fiske as one of the top among small colleges and universities. Cornell was one of only 24 art and design departments to make the list.
The College of New Jersey
- It has joined the ranks of an exclusive group of higher education institutions included in the revised and updated 2010 edition of the Fiske Guide. The guide praises TCNJ as “an up-and-coming public institution with special focus on undergraduates, an emphasis more commonly found at a private school. TCNJ offers professors focused on teaching and a campus physically similar to one found down the road at Princeton University - without the Ivy League price”.
Knox College
- It has been named one of the country's "best and most interesting colleges" in the 2010 edition of the "Fiske Guide to Colleges". The Guide describes Knox as a college where "academics are the priority and students are encouraged to be individuals, but the close-knit atmosphere helps them form strong connections with different types of students and down-to-earth professors".
