The Department of Psychology at University of York (UK) is placed firmly in the top 10 in the UK for psychology in three University Guides for 2011: ranked 7th in The Independent, 7th in The Guardian University Guide, and 5th in The Times newspapers. A total of 95% of its research activity was judged to be of international quality, placing the Department in the top 10 of the 76 Psychology departments entered into the RAE. It has also received top marks (24/24) for teaching quality in the Subject Review carried out by the Quality Assurance Agency.

The Department of Psychology at Royal Holloway (University of London) was ranked 7th (out of 75) amongst the very best Departments in the RAE 2008 according to the ranking compiled by the Guardian and Times.
