San Jose State University (SJSU) is a public university and the founding campus of the California State University (CSU) system.

SJSU's Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering received top marks, ranking 19th nationally among engineering schools offering bachelor's and master's degrees.
- Lucas Graduate School of Business is listed among the best 301 business programs in the nation (The Princeton Review 2010).
- The graduate school of Library and Information Science is ranked 22nd in the nation, and named the number one e-learning service provider in its discipline by U.S. News (Best Graduate Schools 2010).
