Accelerated MBA programs allow students to complete their MBA degree in less time (usually in 1 year or less) and for less cost. The Wall Street Journal has ranked accelerated MBA programs based on surveys of alumni and students. Following are the the top 15 schools:

1 IE Business School, Madrid, Spain
IE is ranked No. 1 by WSJ in the league table. IE offers an International MBA (lasting 13 months) to minimize time away from your career and offers you more than just the average MBA. The program focuses on three main areas: Strategic Communication, and Negotiation; Leadership, Coaching, and Teambuilding; Career Management. IE is also placed 1st in Spain and 4th in Europe in the ranking of European business schools released by Financial Times in 2008.

2 IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland
IMD is one of the world’s top ranked business schools. It offers a one-year MBA program with focus on leadership, entrepreneurship and social responsibility. The program is taught in English and it covers the same amount of material as a traditional 2-year program. It is also ranked 1st in the world for its full-time MBA program by the Economist Intelligence Unit in 2008.

3 Cranfield School of Management, Bedford, England
It is one of an elite group of business schools worldwide to hold triple accreditations from the EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA. The MBA is offered as a one-year full-time programme. Students will be assessed through a mixture of exams, written projects and presentations. The School has 90% of research activity rated as 'internationally recognised' or better in the Research Assessment Exercise 2008.

4 Kellogg School, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois
It offers the One-Year (1Y) Program which is an accelerated MBA program. There are seven courses students must complete to be eligible for the One-Year Program: accounting, economics, finance, marketing, statistics, operations, and organizational behavior. Kellogg is rated 3rd in the U.S. News & World Report's Graduate Business School Rankings 2010.

5 Babson College (Olin)/Babson Park, Massachusetts
The Accelerated one-year full-time MBA is placed among the top 5 globally by WSJ. It also offers a Two-year full-time MBA; Evening MBA; and Fast Track MBA (delivered via distance learning). Babson’s faculty was awarded an A for teaching according to BusinessWeek 2008. In addition it was rated 18th for MBA Return on Investment, and 18th for Post-MBA Salary Gain.

6 ESADE, Barcelona, Spain
It was ranked the international business school of choice in the business world according to a September 2006 Wall Street Journal article. It was also rated the 2nd best MBA programme in Europe and 4th worldwide by América Economía (June, 2009). The Full Time MBA allows students to customise the length of study in 12, 15 or 18 months.

7 INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France
The School is ranked No. 1 among one year international MBA programs and it has the highest return on investment of all schools in the Forbes magazine 2009 league table. The accelerated 10-month MBA gives candidates the opportunity to study on three continents through exchange opportunity with Wharton School in the US and its two campuses (one in Europe and one in Asia).

8 IAE, Buenos Aires, Argentina
It offers two types of MBA: Full-Time MBA Program (One-Year) and EMBA. It is rated as the leading business school in Argentina in the Apertura’s 2007 MBA ranking. IAE is one of the few business schools in the world to receive triple accreditations from EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA.

9 Farmer School, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio
The 14-month MBA is listed No. 9 internationally and No. 3 in the US. Its undergraduate business program is placed 1st among Ohio business schools and 6th among public schools in the BusinessWeek’s 2009 survey. All of its programs are accredited by the AACSB International.

10 Goizueta School, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia
The Full-Time MBA is placed 22nd out of 426 accredited business schools in the 2010 edition of U.S.News "Best Graduate Schools". The One-Year Full-Time MBA is offered in a three-semester, 12-month curriculum. It is specifically designed for candidates with undergraduate degree in business or economics, and has solid work experience.

11 Cornell University/Ithaca, N.Y.
It offers a standard MBA degree, a fast track Accelerated MBA (designed for those with advanced degrees, strong quantitative skills, and leadership potential), Executive MBA, and Cornell-Queen's EMBA program. The School is placed 7th in the Aspen Institutes ranking of how business schools are integrating issues of social and environmental stewardship into curricula and research 2007.

12 Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark
Placed in the top 20 globally in the FT Masters in Management Rankings 2006. CBS was established in 1917 by the Danish Society for the Advancement of Business Education (now known as FUHU). The School also participates both in international and in national accreditations.

13 Univ of St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland
It is one of the top universities in Switzerland, regularly placed among the world's top 400 institutions by the THES, and its EMBA program is ranked 60th in the world according to the Financial Times (2008). The MBA programme is taught entirely in English. Students are required to complete nine core courses, nine elective courses, and an MBA project.

14 Durham Business School, Durham, England
It has been listed among the FT Top 42 Distance Learning MBA programmes in the world. The MBA programmes are offered in full-time, part-time and distance learning options.

15 University of Oxford (Said), Oxford, England
Said Business School is one of Europe's most entrepreneurial business schools. It is placed among the world's top 20 for its MBA programs by the Financial Times in 2009.
