The Boston University School of Management (SMG) is one of the best business schools in the United States, offering a range of undergraduate and graduate programs including the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), Master of Business Administration, EMBA, Master of Science in Investment Management (MSIM), Master of Science in Information Systems combined with MBA (MS-MBA) and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree.

The School was founded in 1913 as the College of Business Administration. It is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

- The full-time MBA was placed 21st in the US and 40th internationally. It was also placed 1st in the world in terms of diversity of recruiters (Economist 'Which MBA?' Rankings 2009). It was placed 71st internationally in 2008.

In the specialty rankings, it was rated 13th nationally in Accounting, 18th nationally in Corporate Strategy, 27th nationally in Financial Management, 27th nationally in Quantitative Methods, and 22nd nationally in Marketing.

- The Full-time MBA was placed 46th in the US News & World Report 2009. It was placed 40th in 2008.

- The Executive MBA ranked 1st in New England for 8th consecutive year. The School was rated 23rd in the U.S. and 63rd internationally. It was also rated 10th in the category of post-program finance salaries (FT 2008).

- Placed among the top 50 MBA programs in the U.S., 2nd in the world for Best in IT Programs and 8th for Best in e-Business Programs (FT 2008 Business School Rankings).

- The MBA Program was placed 23rd overall and 14th nationally (AméricaEconomía 2008).

- The School was placed among the top 6 in New England and the top 45 in the country. In the return-on-investment category, it was rated 14th nationally, placing it 2nd in New England and 1st in Boston (BusinessWeek magazine’s ranking of full time MBA programs 2008).

- The Executive Education Custom Programs was ranked 16th in the United States and 27th internationally. It was also placed 10th in the world for teaching methods and material, 23rd globally for faculty, 15th in the world for aims achieved, 18th globally for value for the money (FT 2008).

- 38th in the nation and 74th globally in the EIU ranking of full-time MBA programs 2007. It was also placed 19th in the world for breadth of the alumni network (9th in the U.S.) and 39th for internationalism of alumni (15th in the U.S.).

- 15th in the nation, and 1st in Boston (BusinessWeek’s ranking of part-time MBA programs 2007).

- The Executive Education Programs was rated 12th in the US and 20th internationally (FT 2007).

- The entrepreneurship certificate program named “Top 5 e-school” by Fortune Small Biz & CNNMoney (2007 issue).
