The University of Hong Kong (informally Hong Kong University, or HKU) is one of the best ranking universities in the world. Founded in 1911, it is the oldest tertiary institution in Hong Kong. - 24th in the world in the 2009 THE - QS World University Rankings, making it the best university in Hong Kong and China, and the second best in Asia (behind University of Toyko). It was ranked 33rd in 2006, 18th in 2007 and 26th in 2008.
