According to the Complete University Guide 2010 ranking, Oxford is the No. 1 university in the region (South East), followed by Southampton (2nd), Royal Holloway (3rd), Sussex (4th) and Surrey (5th).

- According to The Independent Complete University Guide, it is rated 13th in 2008, 22nd in 2009 and 22nd in 2010.
- The Royal Holloway School of Management is in the top 20 for UK Business Schools, ranked 5th out of the 15 London-based Business and Management submissions (RAE 2008).
- It is ranked 6th among the 1994 Group of research-led institutions based on 3* and 4* scores. In the South East region, it comes third after Oxford and Southampton (RAE 2008).
