The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) was the only institution from Switzerland ranked within the Top 10 Non-USA MBA by Business Week 2007. IMD was placed 2nd in the Ranking of Top 15 International Business Schools by Wall Street Journal 2007. It was also ranked 1st in the world for its full-time MBA programs, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit 2008.

University of Zurich was ranked 9th in the Top 10 universities in citations per staff member, published by THES 2007.

ETH Zurich is the best technological university in Switzerland, placed 13th in the world (World Top 50 Technology Universities 2007). It was ranked 11th in the world's top 100 science universities by THES 2006.

Université de Genève was ranked 39th globally among the World Top 50 Biotech Universities.

According to the THES - QS Rankings of European Top 150 universities 2007, ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) is ranked 1st in the nation and 11th in Europe, followed by University of Geneva (37th in Europe) and University of Basel (41st in Europe).
