According to the U.S. News & World Report Top Art School Rankings, Rhode Island School of Design is ranked 1st nationally for its Masters of Fine Arts Program, followed by Yale (2nd) and School of the Art Institute of Chicago (3rd). Cranbrook Academy of Art is a Top 4 Art Academy in the country. The 2009 edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools” published by US News and World Report placed the Academy 4th overall among the 220 Master of Fine Arts programs across the US. Virginia Commonwealth University is ranked 4th overall and 1st among public university school of arts and design in the country by U.S. News & World Report. It is also rated 1st in Sculpture, 4th in Graphic Design, 8th in Painting, 9th in Multimedia/Visual Communications, 12th in Ceramics, 17th in Printmaking, and 5th in Glass.
