According to the Complete University Guide 2017 league table, Cambridge was ranked 1st in the UK, followed by Oxford in 2nd place and London School of Economics in 3rd place.

Lancaster University was ranked 9th for the second year in a row in The Complete University Guide 2017 league table. In separate listings for subjects, Lancaster makes the Top Ten for 18 of the 34 subjects it offers.

Heriot-Watt University has risen three places to 34th in the UK in the 2017 Complete University Guide. In Scotland the University was placed 4th, after St Andrews, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Heriot-Watt was also ranked in the top ten in the UK for Building, Town & Country Planning, Chemical Engineering and Art & Design.

The University of Dundee has now moved to 35th in the overall table, from 49th two years ago. In addition, Dundee tops the subject table for Forensic Science, reflecting the University’s standing as one of the world’s foremost institutions in the field.

The University of Liverpool was ranked 38th nationally in the 2017 Complete University Guide. In separate listings covering 70 subjects, Liverpool is listed in 47 and features in the top ten of four: Building (6th out of 38), Occupational Therapy (3rd out of 25), Physiotherapy (8th out of 35) and Veterinary Medicine (4th out of 7).

Swansea University was ranked 45th out of 127 UK universities featured in the Complete University Guide 2017. ‌At subject level, Swansea University has six subjects appearing in the UK top 10, with Medical Technology ranked 2nd, Medicine, and Materials Technology both ranked 6th, Social Work ranked 7th, Celtic Studies ranked 8th and Social Policy ranked 10th.
