The University of Toronto was ranked No. 1 in Canada and among the top 20 universities in the world, according to the 2014/2015 QS World University Rankings. The report also ranked U of T 1st in Canada in all discipline areas: arts and humanities, engineering and technology, life sciences and medicine, natural sciences, and social sciences and management.

McGill University has maintained its ranking of 21st in the QS World University Rankings. It is Canada’s second-ranked university in this year’s list, almost tied with the University of Toronto, which ranks 20th.

The University of Alberta moved up an impressive 12 positions to 84th among the 2,000 universities rated in the survey. The latest results put the university in 5th place among its 26 Canadian counterparts.

McMaster University continues to place among the world’s top universities, up from 140th position in last year’s rankings to 113th. The University’s strong academic reputation, its faculty to student ratio and McMaster’s reputation with employers helped boost this year’s ranking.
