The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) is a nationally recognized Liberal Arts college in the United States. It was established in 1864 as Maine's first public institution of higher education.
UMF offers a wide variety of majors as well as minors and certificate program. Degrees offered include the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.), Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.), Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed).
The University of Maine at Farmington is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The teacher education programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
The University is a founding member of COPLAC, the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges.
