Top New Universities in the UK
According to The Independent Complete University Guide, University of Hertfordshire is ranked 1st among the top five new universities in the UK (2011), followed by Nottingham Trent University (2nd), Oxford Brookes University (3rd), Robert Gordon University (4th), and University of Chichester (5th).
University of Hertfordshire is the UK's leading business-facing university. The Independent newspaper's league table (May 2010) ranked the University 41st out of 113 universities. The Independent comments "The Enterprising University of Hertfordshire continues to rise up the ranks, coming in again as the top new university in Britain...".
Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has earned a strong reputation for outstanding graduate employability and excellent teaching standards. It is placed in the top five British universities for number of students taking year-long work placements (HESA 2009/10).
Oxford Brookes University is consistently ranked among the very best new universities in other league tables. It has been named the best modern university by the Sunday Times University Guide ten years in a row. Brookes also performs consistently well in the Times Good University Guide. The University has strong student satisfaction ratings and ranks highly for graduate employment (placing it ahead of many Russell Group universities including Birmingham and Leeds).
Robert Gordon University has an outstanding international reputation for providing high quality education from undergraduate through to PhD level. It is named the top modern university in the UK in The Sunday Times University Guide 2012. It is also named the Sunday Times Scottish University of the Year 2011.
