Louisiana State University Rankings
Louisiana State University (LSU) is the flagship institution of the Louisiana State University System. It holds the Carnegie Foundation's designation as a Doctorate-granting university, with very high research activity.
The University is a member of the American Council on Education; the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges; and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.

- Louisiana State University is ranked 124th among the top tier national universities (US News 2011).
- LSU is placed 128th among 262 American public and private universities in the United States, and 64th overall when compared to public universities only. It is the only public university in Louisiana ranked in the top tier in the U.S. News & World Report's 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges. LSU's graduation rate has risen from 57.5 percent in 2004 to 60.7 percent in 2008.
