Webometrics Ranking 2011
Massachusetts Institute of Technology is ranked first globally, ahead of Harvard University (2nd) and Stanford University (3rd), according to the January 2011 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
National Taiwan University is the leading university in Asia, ranked 1st in the region and 12th globally, followed by University of Tokyo (16th) and Kyoto University (24th).
University of Cambridge is the only European institution made it to the top 20 list. A total of three European institution ranked in the top 40 globally, the other two are University College London (31st) and University of Southampton (32nd).
Kaunas University of Technology achieved the highest ratings among Lithuanian universities, at 923rd. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University is the second highest ranked institution in the country (931st internationally), followed by Vilnius University at 972nd internationally.
