New York University
- By 1976 the Master of Arts in Art Therapy program had received approval from the New York State Education Department. In 1979, New York University’s Graduate Art Therapy program was one of the first of five programs to receive approval from the American Art Therapy Association (AATA).
- The NYU Graduate Art Therapy Program offers an intense three week internship abroad during the summer. Internships have been held in Tanzania, Peru, South Africa, etc.
Marywood University
- Marywood's undergraduate Art Therapy program gives students the opportunity to participate in pre-professional art therapy education.
- The University also offers a graduate course of study leading to a Master of Arts in Art Therapy.
