Founded in 1873, North Georgia College & State University (NGCSU) is a leading public university located in Dahlonega, Lumpkin County, Georgia, US. It is the state's second-oldest university, and one of the senior military colleges in the United States.
North Georgia College and State University is the first co-educational college in the state and the first public college in Georgia to admit women.

The University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The School of Business is accredited by AACSB International. The Master of Science degree in Community Counseling is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
