St. Thomas University (Florida)

St. Thomas University (STU) is a private Roman Catholic university located in the Miami suburb of Miami Gardens, Florida, US. It was founded in 1961 as Biscayne College.

The University has the following academic units: School of Business; Biscayne College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences; School of Law; School of Leadership Studies; School of Science, Technology, and Engineering Management; School of Theology and Ministry.

Biscayne College offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice, English, History, Human Services, Liberal Studies, Liberal Studies-Global Leadership, Political Science, and Psychology; as well as Master of Science degrees in Guidance & Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling. It also offers joint degree programs.

The School of Business offers a range of degree programs including BA Business, BA Sports Administration, BBA Accounting, BBA Sports Administration, MBA Business Administration, MIB International Business, MS Management, etc.

The School of Leadership Studies offers programs such as BA Communication Arts, BA Elementary Education, BA Health Care Services, BA Organizational Leadership, MS Education Administration, MS Special Education, EdD Educational Leadership, etc.

The School of Theology and Ministry offers programs including BA Environmental Justice, BA Religious Studies, MA Pastoral Ministries, PhD Practical Theology, etc.

The University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The School of Law at St. Thomas was fully accredited by the American Bar Association in 1995, and it offers the Juris Doctor degree (J.D.).
