Maastricht University (UM) is one of the best universities in Netherlands, consistently placed among the world's best institutions in international league table.

- CHE awarded Maastricht University School of Business and Economics with a total of 8 out of 10 possible stars (The Excellence Ranking 2009 by the German Centre for Higher Education Development, CHE).

- 1st in the Netherlands for BSc Fiscal Economics, BSC Econometrics and Operations Research, and the MSc Economics/IB (Elsevier ranking 2009).

- The MSc International Business is placed 29th (FT 2009). The School of Business and Economics is also placed highly in the following categories: 3rd in value for money, 20th in aims achieved percentage, 11th in international mobility, 14th in international students percentage.

- 55th in the Financial Times ranking of Top 65 European MBA programs 2008.

- The undergraduate degrees in International Business and Economics were ranked 1st in the Netherlands in the 2008 Elsevier ranking.

- The International Business programme is placed 25th among the top 40 European schools. The programme also made the 4th position on the list "Best in International Business" and 3rd in the category "Value for Money" (FT 2008).

- 1st in the Netherlands by the Dutch publication Elsevier (2005-2006).
