University of Strathclyde Top Rankings

Founded in 1796, The University of Strathclyde is one of the leading universities located in Glasgow (Scotland), consistently placed amongst the world's best universities in major rankings and league tables. The university received its Royal Charter in 1964 as the UK's first technological university.

- No. 1 for chemistry in Scotland, and in the UK top ten by both The Independent and The Times 2009 Guides.

- The Strathclyde MBA was ranked 30th among the top 100 full time MBA programmes in the world (Financial Times 2008).

- 18th in the UK for Accounting & Finance (Times 2008).

- 85% of its research output is rated at an internationally excellent standard (Research Assessment Exercise 2008). It is also rated top in Scotland for engineering ‘research power’.

- 60 per cent of the Law School’s output received the highest gradings - 4* ‘world-class’ or 3* ‘internationally excellent’ in the RAE 2008, placing it 7th best in the UK (out of 67) and top in Scotland.

- The RAE 2008 rated both the "Design and Manufacturing" and "Engineering Management" activities as top in Scotland. Strathclyde is also rated top in Scotland and 8th in the UK for Pharmacy; top in Scotland and 12th in the UK for Business and management studies.

- Placed in the range 403-510th globally in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2007.
