Empire State College Profile
Founded in 1971, Empire State College is one of the thirteen arts and science colleges of the State University of New York (SUNY). It is the largest liberal arts and sciences college in the SUNY system.
The College is regionally accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. All programs offered are registered (approved) by the New York State Education Department. It is one of only 16 institutions providing distance education to the Army and Navy.
The college is consistently ranked No. 1 in student satisfaction. It offers degree programs onsite at 35 locations in New York state and abroad, as well as entirely online. Courses are available in the arts; nursing; business, management, and economics; cultural studies; historical studies; labor studies; social theory, social structure and change; educational studies; human development; and science, mathematics, and technology.
