Established in 1854, the University of Evansville (UE) is a fully-accredited, private, liberal arts and sciences based university located in Southwestern Indiana (US).

The University has the following schools and colleges: Schroeder Family School of Business Administration, the College of Education and Health Sciences, the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and the College of Arts and Sciences.

The University of Evansville has been fully accredited since 1931 by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The School of Education is accredited by the National Council of Teacher Accreditation (NCATE), the organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as being responsible for professional accreditation of teacher education. The School of Business Administration is AACSB accredited. Other accreditations include: Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology; National Association of Schools of Music Commission on Accreditation; Indiana Division of Professional Standards; National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission; Indiana State Board of Nursing; Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education; Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education; Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

- University of Evansville is rated 10th in the Best Regional Universities – Midwest category (USNWR 2011).

- Rated 10th among the Best Master's Universities in the Midwest of the 2010 U.S. News & World Report America's Best Colleges. Schools are selected by such factors as academic reputation, graduation rate, class size, and selectivity. It is also one of the two best values in the region, and ranks among the most “committed to teaching”. Overall, 142 universities in 12 Master’s-granting universities in the Midwest were ranked on the list. The University of Evansville was the only Southwestern Indiana institution to make the top tier.

- University of Evansville was ranked as one of the top ten music business departments (Schools That Rock: The Rolling Stone College Guide).

- In the U.S.News "America's Best Colleges 2007", UE is ranked 1st for "Best Value", 11th Best in the Midwest (among master's degree granting institutions), and 6th among Top 100 Campuses with Most International Students.
