The University of Adelaide is ranked 125th in the 2016-17 QS World University Rankings. It is the only university in South Australia ranked inside the top 250.

Academic Ranking of World Universities:
Adelaide has risen in the prestigious international university field rankings, the 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities by Broad Subject Fields produced by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In life sciences, it moved up 53 places to 85th in the world. In engineering, it moved up 27 places to 102nd, and in science it entered the top 200 for the first time at 172nd. Overall, the University of Adelaide is ranked 139th after jumping 30 places in the institution rankings.

Times Higher Education World University Ranking:
Adelaide is ranked 142nd in the 2016-17 Times Higher Education world university rankings. It is the highest ranked university in South Australia. In addition, the University of Adelaide is among the top 100 of the world’s most international universities according to the prestigious Times Higher Education.
