Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham was ranked 3rd in the UK, behind Cambridge and Imperial College in the Guardian's 2016 university league table. For the last 4 years Birmingham has maintained its top three position.

The University of Bath was ranked 4th in the UK for chemical engineering by Guardian University Guide 2016. It was also placed in the Top 3 in the UK for Chemical Engineering by Complete University Guide 2016 and The Times Good University Guide 2016.

Lancaster University was ranked 9th for chemical engineering in the Guardian University League Tables 2016. It was also ranked 8th in the UK for chemical engineering in the Times Higher Education Listing 2016.
