Johns Hopkins University was ranked No. 1 among the best education schools in the nation, according to the U.S. News & World Report ranking of "America's Best Graduate Schools" 2015, followed by Vanderbilt University in 2nd place and Harvard University in 3rd place.

Michigan State University College of Education was ranked 15th overall. In addition, the College had eight programs ranked in the top 10: elementary and secondary education at No. 1; rehabilitation counseling at No. 2; curriculum/instruction at No. 4; higher education administration at No. 5; educational psychology at No. 6; administration/supervision at No. 7; and education policy at No. 10.

The William & Mary School of Education (SOE) remained in the top 40, ranking 39th among the nation's education schools. They tied with Florida State and Rutgers – New Brunswick. SOE placed well in the administrators and experts assessment category, scoring 4.3 out of 5.

The University of Washington (UW) College of Education was ranked 7th overall nationally and 2nd among public universities. Its special education program ranked 7th, secondary education was 9th and administration/supervision ranked 11th.
