UK University Rankings 2013
The Complete University Guide 2013 has ranked Cambridge as the best university in UK and LSE as the second best university in the UK. The 2013 rankings see LSE rising from 4th in last year's 2012 rankings to 2nd for this year. LSE is also placed in the top 10 for all twelve of the subjects it offers and is rated as the top place in the UK to study Accounting and Finance, Economics and Social Policy.
Durham University is named as the country's fifth best university. It is also rated third in the UK for the amount it spends on support facilities including careers and sports facilities. The University featured in the top 10 for entry standards, student satisfaction, the percentage of graduates achieving a first or upper second class degree, degree completion and employability of its graduates.
The University of Warwick moved up to 6th place among the UK's 116 universities, and it is once again ranked as the top university in the Midlands.
The University of Bath maintained its top 10 ranking for 2013. It also appeared in the top 10 list in no less than 20 out of the 26 subjects offered, with Architecture topping its table as the No. 1 place to study the subject in the UK.
Lancaster University is ranked ninth in the nation. It also scores highly in individual subject rankings, with Social Work rated 1st; Art and Design second; Linguistics at 3rd; Drama, Dance and Cinema at 5th; Biological Science and Geography and Environmental Science all 8th; Accounting and Finance, Business Studies, General Engineering and Social Policy all rated 9th.
The University of Reading moved up two positions to 32nd overall out of the 116 universities. Additionally, it has seven subject areas appearing among the top 10 nationally in their respective areas, including six that were ranked in the top 5.
