Best Education Programs 2013

According to the US News 2013 Best Graduate Schools rankings in education programs, Vanderbilt University (Peabody) is ranked No. 1 in the country and ahead of Harvard University (2nd nationally).

Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy (SESP) is ranked 9th in the nation, according to the 2013 ranking of graduate schools of education. For the past 12 years, SESP has consistently ranked among the top 10 schools nationwide.

The Indiana University School of Education is ranked among the best education programs in the nation in the 2013 edition of U.S. News Best Graduate Schools rankings. It is ranked 21st overall and 11th among public university graduate schools. The school had top rankings for five of its degree programs: 7th for curriculum/instruction; 8th for elementary education and higher education administration; 10th in student counseling and personnel services; and 12th for secondary education.

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville graduate programs in education moved up in the 2013 rankings. The College of Education, Health and Human Sciences' graduate education made the largest move up the list to 49th in the nation, up from 58th last year, and 34th among public colleges (up from 41st last year).

Virginia Tech's School of Education, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, tied for 100th in the nation, ranking alongside Loyola University Chicago, University of Central Florida, and University of Colorado-Denver.
