Founded in 1885, Goucher College is an independent, selective, coeducational institution located in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. It is the first college in the nation to pair required study abroad with a special travel stipend of $1,200 for every undergraduate.

Goucher College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It offers a wide variety of majors, minors and programs including American Studies; Art & Art History; Arts Administration; Biology; Business Management; Chemistry; Cognitive Studies; Communication & Media Studies; Computer Science & Mathematics; Dance; Economics; Education; Environmental Studies; International Business; Latin American Studies; Mathematics & Computer Science; etc. The Robert S. Welch Center for Graduate and Professional Studies offers a Master of Arts in Arts Administration, Master of Arts in Cultural Sustainability, Master of Arts in Teaching, etc.

The College offers a comprehensive financial aid program of need-based and merit-based assistance. About 85% of undergraduates received some type of aid. In total, they were awarded approximately $29 million in 2008-2009 through some combination of need-based grants, merit scholarships, loans, and work-study opportunities.

- U.S. News and World Report ranked the College at 121st in its annual rankings of national liberal arts colleges (2012).

Students also praised Goucher's “education without boundaries” philosophy and its “innovative and exciting” study-abroad requirement.
