The University of New England (UNE) is an independent, coeducational university with campuses on the coast of southern Maine – University Campus in Biddeford and Westbrook College Campus in Portland. The occupational therapy educational program is accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association. The nursing programs are accredited by the National League of Nursing. The dental hygiene programs are accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation. The Social Work Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation on the Council of Social Work Education. The Physician Assistant Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
The education programs leading to elementary and secondary certifications are approved by the State of Maine Department of Education.
