Following are some of the leading colleges and universities featured in the guidebook:

Barry University - It has received a strong rating in the 2002-2003 edition of Great Colleges for the Real World - Get In. Get Out. Get a Job. Barry scored extremely high in the categories of the Total College Experience, Market Response, and Career Development Potential. Special mention was made of the unique features of the School of Adult & Continuing Education and the School of Nursing.

Millsaps College - It is one of only two schools in Mississippi noted in this guide. The guide specifically praises Millsaps' adult learning programs, its community enrichment series, its leadership seminars, and its Advanced Placement Institute.

Francis Marion University (FMU) - It is among 201 baccalaureate colleges across the country featured in the book's third edition (2003-2004). FMU is one of 11 South Carolina public and private colleges listed in the book.

Huntington College - It has been named one of the Great Colleges for the Real World for the third consecutive year. Other Indiana institutions listed in the book included Butler University, Franklin College, Indiana Institute of Technology, Marian College and the University of Indianapolis.
