Delaware State University Rankings
Delaware State University (DSU) is an American historically black university located in the historic city of Dover, the capital of Delaware. DSU takes pride in its heritage as one of the country's first land-grant educational institutions, rooted early on in agriculture and education.
Delaware State University is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, as well as by a number of specialized academic accrediting agencies including the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the Council on Social Work Education, the Accrediting Council for Programs in Hospitality Administration, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, as well as the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetic Education. The College of Business is nationally and internationally accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Notable DSU alumni include: Wayne Gilchrest (U.S. Representative for Maryland's 1st congressional district, 1990–2009), Marlene Saunders (2008 Delaware social worker of the year), John Taylor (National Football League wide receiver, San Francisco 49ers, 1987–1995), David G. Turner (Recognized by Fortune magazine in 2002 as one of the "50 most powerful black executives in America"), etc.

- Delaware State University has been ranked 17th among 80 Historically Black Universities and Colleges in the country by U.S. News & World Report. It is tied with Winston-Salem State University for 17th place in the rankings. Among Mid-Atlantic Region schools, DSU joins Howard University (2nd), Hampton University (6th), Morgan State University (15th) and Virginia State University (19th) in the top 20 HBCUs in the 2009 ranking.
