Parade Magazine College A-List
Parade Magazine asked top high school counselors across the country to recommend outstanding schools that often fly under the radar. The national publication is distributed in more than 400 newspapers across the country. According to Crain's New York Business, Parade is the most widely read magazine in the US. Following are some of the leading colleges/universities that have been highlighted in the publication:
- Pitzer College was recognized in Parade Magazine's "College A-List" for Great Internship Opportunities. According to Parade: Pitzer has more graduates employed upon graduation than most liberal arts colleges and it's the number one school for Fulbright Fellowship winners in the country.
- Saint Louis University (SLU) was highlighted for its pre-med program, combined bachelor's and graduate degrees, and business and accounting education.
- High Point University (HPU) is one of the top 25 large private schools in the nation listed in the magazine's annual "College A-List" (2010).
- Olin College successfully made it onto the list of 26 engineering schools and is described as having "an excellent, hands-on engineering program with a strong business background—it is after all located next door to Babson College".
- Centre College was included on the list of small private colleges that recognized, among others, Bates, Franklin & Marshall, Grinnell and Pomona. Private colleges named “A-List large private schools” (August 2010) include Boston College, Cornell University, Duke University and Elon University.
- Stetson University's School of Music has been named to Parade Magazine's “College A-List” in the category highlighting Arts Programs. It is one of seven colleges and universities nationwide to receive the honor. Other schools in the Arts category and the specialties for which they were featured include: Alfred University in New York, ceramics; Barnard College in New York, theater; Chapman University in California, film; Connecticut College, theater and dance; MICA in Maryland, studio arts; and University of Dallas, studio arts.
