Forbes Best Colleges 2011

According to the Forbes' annual ranking of America's Best Colleges for 2011, Williams College took the top spot, followed by Princeton University in second position and United States Military Academy in third position. The ranking focuses on the things that matter most to students: quality of teaching, great career prospects, graduation rates and low levels of debt.

Other top performers in the Forbes College Rankings 2011 include:

Lawrence University - It is ranked 63rd among 650 of the nation's leading undergraduate colleges, 57th among private colleges, and 8th among Midwestern colleges. For the fourth straight year, Forbes ranked Lawrence University 1st among 13 Wisconsin colleges included on the list.

University of Virginia - It is the leading non-military-academy public university in Forbes Magazine's "America's Top Colleges" rankings. U.Va. is ranked 46th overall among the 650 undergraduate schools on the list, which was compiled by the Center for College Affordability & Productivity. The only public institutions rated higher in the rankings, which take into account tuition and student debt, are the United States Military Academy (No. 3), the U.S. Air Force Academy (No. 10) and the U.S. Naval Academy (No. 17), which are all free of charge to students.

Grand Valley State University - It is listed as one of America's Best Colleges in 2011 by Forbes magazine. Michigan has 15 public universities. Of the nine on the list, Grand Valley is ranked 4th.

St. Norbert College - It is named one of America's best colleges, jumping 68 spots to number 84 out of all colleges and universities in the nation.

Santa Clara University - It has been rising on Forbes' list for a number of years, ranking at 318th in 2008, 150th in 2009, 115th in 2010, and 67th in 2011.
