UK University League Table 2012

The Independent's UK University League Tables & Rankings 2012 has just been released. Cambridge University has overhauled Oxford to become the No. 1 University in the UK. The guide ranks universities according to nine key factors including graduate prospects, student satisfaction and entry standards.

Universities with significant improvements in the 2012 rankings:
- The University of Bath successfully made it to the top 10 (from 12th in the 2011 league table). It is also placed in the top 10 for 22 out of the 26 individual subjects offered.
- Bristol jumped up 5 places form 16th to 11th.
- Exeter made it to the top 15 nationally (up from 24th).
- Loughborough is placed in the top 20 (up from 21st).
- Surrey moved up to 28th from 33rd.
- Both Manchester and Liverpool moved up 2 places to 29th and 30th respectively.
